Build a self-hosted URL shortener with a dashboard

This workflow creates an automatic self-hosted URL shortener. It consists of three sub-workflows: Short URL creation for extracting the provided long URL, generating an ID, and saving the record in the database. It returns a short link as a result. Redirection for extracting the ID value, validating the existence of its correspondent record in the database, and returning a redirection page after updating the visits (click) count. Dashboard for calculating simple statistics about the saved record and displaying them on a dashboard. Read more about this use case and how to set up the workflow in the blog post How to build a low-code, self-hosted URL shortener in 3 steps. Prerequisites A local proxy set up that redirects the n8n.ly domain to your n8n instance An Airtable account and credentials Basic knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS Nodes Webhook nodes trigger the sub-workflows on calls to a specified link. IF nodes route the workflows based on specified query parameters. Set nodes set the required values returned by the previous nodes (id, longUrl, and shortUrl). Airtable nodes retrieve records (values) from or append records to the database. Function node calculates statistics on link clicks to be displayed on the dashboard, as well as its design. Crypto node generates a SHA256 hash.

Handle verification for Twitter webhook

This workflow handles the incoming call from Twitter and sends the required response for verification. On registering the webhook with the Twitter Account Activity API, Twitter expects a signature in response. Twitter also randomly ping the webhook to ensure it is active and secure. Webhook node: Use the displayed URL to register with the Account Activity API. Crypto node: In the Secret field, enter your API Key Secret from Twitter. Set node: This node generates the response expected by the Twitter API. Learn more about connecting n8n with Twitter in the Getting Started with Twitter Webhook article.

Snooze Todoist tasks until 3 days before due date

Use case This workflow snoozes any Todoist tasks, by moving them into a Snoozed todoist list and unsnoozes them 3 days before due date. Helps keep inbox clear only of tasks you need to worry about soon. How to setup Add your Todoist creds Create a Todoist project called snoozed Set the project ids in the relevant nodes Add due dates to your tasks in Inbox. Watch them disappear to snoozed. Set their date to tomorrow, watch it return to inbox. How to adjust this template Adjust the timeline.. Maybe 3 days is too close for you. Works mostly for me :)

Slack Webhook - Verify Signature

Description This template will help you verify that incoming calls from a Slack webhook actually come from Slack and not some unknown third-party services. It is mainly used to prevent attacks from malicious bots or individuals. This is a Sub-Workflow, so it should be used inside the main workflow that contains the webhook listening for Slack requests. How to Use What to Edit You should set the Slack Signing Secret that you can find on your Slack App dashboard in the general tab. It should be located under the following URL: https://api.slack.com/apps/[SLACK_APP_ID]/general Input The input should be the received Slack request. This workflow should then be placed directly after the Slack Webhook. Outputs Success Output If the signature was verified successfully, we return a key verified_signature set to true along with data from the Slack request itself. Error Output When the signature could not be verified, we raise an error. You can handle this case in your main workflow by using an Error Workflow or by changing your node settings and choosing some actions in case of an error. Changelog Version 1.0.1 (2023-12-11) Changed replace by replaceAll in JS code in case of several arguments. Added some custom replacements that encodeURIComponent does not take into account

Send a ChatGPT email reply and save responses to Google Sheets

This workflow sends a OpenAI GPT reply when an email is received from specific email recipients. It then saves the initial email and the GPT response to an automatically generated Google spreadsheet. Subsequent GPT responses will be added to the same spreadsheet. Additionally, when feedback is given for any of the GPT responses, it will be recorded to the spreasheet, which can then be used later to fine-tune the GPT model. Prerequisites OpenAI credentials Google credentials How it works This workflow is essentially a two-in-one workflow. It triggers off from two different nodes and have very different functionality from each trigger. The flow triggered from On email received node is as follows: Triggers off on the On email received node. Extract the email body from the email. Generate a response from the email body using the OpenAI node. Reply to the email sender using the Send reply to recipient node. A feedback link is also included in the email body which will trigger the On feedback given node. This is used to fine-tune the GPT model. Save the email body and OpenAI response to a Google Sheet. If a sheet does not exist, it will be created. The flow triggered from On feedback given node is as follows: Triggers off when a feedback link is clicked in the emailed GPT response. The feedback, either positive or negative, for that specific GPT response is then recorded to the Google Sheet.
